Comments

The course opened in May of 2001 and was designed by renowned golf course architect J. Christopher Commins, ASGCA. A graduate of the University of Florida, his education and training, which includes his work with Mark McCumber, has allowed him to put together a vigorous course that St. Augustine had only wished for. "We took great care in utilizing the golf layout as the critical interface between the natural wetlands that run through the site", Commins states, "affording the golfer a more naturalized setting than we typically see in most community courses."

Since it's inception, Royal St. Augustine has taken great pride in the near tournament conditions of their course.  The course is visually intriguing created with undulating greens, shapely bunkers, and rolling terrain. The typical condition is everything a golfer desires.  And the location is perhaps its best feature, being so close to Old Town St. Augustine

The open-ceiling clubhouse is especially inviting, with a fully stocked proshop, dining areas with huge windows overlooking the course, sitting areas with a fireplace, large outdoor veranda, a full-bar and pool table. The staff set the standard for friendly, which makes for a relaxing and pleasurable day from parking lot to the 19th hole.  And its proximity to the World Golf Village, Old St. Augustine, and the Jacksonville Airport (40 miles north) make Royal St. Augustine Golf Club an outstanding choice for vacation destination golf.
