Kiawah Island Golf Resort to offer 2-day
Junior Golf Camps this summer

--Ultimate Golf School offered for Adults

Kiawah Island, SC (Thursday, February 22, 2007) – Kiawah Island Golf Resort will offer two-day Junior Golf Camps this year starting in June and running through Labor Day. Camps run twice a week with a Monday-Tuesday camp and a Thursday-Friday camp, each run from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm. 

“These camps are geared to the intermediate golfer between the age of 12 and 17,” explained Ronnie Miller, Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s Director of Instruction. “They focus on both full swing and short game and will feature both on-range and on-course instruction with some indoor lessons as well. In addition to golf mechanics, the on-course and indoor sessions will also feature some instruction on rules and basic game etiquette.” 

The 2-day camps will be broken down on the following schedule:

Day 1 (Monday/ Thursday)

3:00pm-3:45pm Rules/Snack
3:45pm-4:45pm Putting
4:45pm-5:30pm On-Course Education (Playing from Tee-Green)

Day 2 (Tuesday/Friday)
2:00pm-3:00pm Chipping/Pitching
3:00pm-3:45pm Tournament/College Info./Snack
3:45pm-4:45pm Full Swing
4:45pm-5:30pm On-Course Education (Short Game Decisions)

The two-day camps cost $305 and will have at most a 5 to 1 student to teacher ratio. Students can opt for just one day for $165. The camps instructors will come from Kiawah Island’s professional golf staff – the largest of any resort in the U.S. with 17 PGA members and 4 apprentices.

For beginners, the Tommy Cuthbert Golf Learning Center offers one-hour Junior Clinics (ages 8-17) all summer long Monday through Friday at 1 pm. These daily clinics cost $30 each day and strive to provide a fun and educational learning environment with each day focusing on a unique aspect of the game: Monday-Full Swing Basics, Tuesday-Ball Flight Principles, Wednesday-Chipping & Putting, Thursday-Full Swing Basics, Friday-Pitching & Bunker Shots.

Private junior lessons are also available all year long. 

For adults seeking to bring their game to its highest level, the resort offers the “Ultimate Golf School Package.” This new golf instruction package gives the golfer a chance to improve his or her overall game with instruction on swing mechanics, recommendations on equipment fitting, and fundamentals of the short game and course management.

Each Ultimate Golf School Package costs $1,488.35 and includes
