The Gary Wirth-designed course offers what many believe to be the area's best greens. This is a challenging layout with four sets of tees, rolling terrain and a 12-acre lake centered on the property. The course was chosen to host the Hooters-National Golf Association Jackaroo Classic professional golf tour event in 1999 and 2000. Emerald Lake also hosted the 2002, and 2004 Tarheel Tour event, The Emerald Lake Classic. In the heart of the course is a sparkling 12-acre lake from which the course rightfully derives its name. Part of this Emerald Lake is shown above A smaller lake and lighted fountains contribute to a feast for the eyes and a rejuvenation of the spirit while the golfer enjoys the challenge of splendid greens. The signature hole is hole number five, a par five and truly "par excellence" for the serious golfer. |
