Comments - One of the area’s Premier Courses, a Golf Digest "award winner" and chosen by The Washington Golf Monthly as "A Best New Course for 1996." This course is special in the Pinehurst area because it was partially constructed from a horse farm, the second such effort from Dan Maples. A unique landmark in the world of equestrian sports has now became a legendary world-class golf course. Sculptured from 450 acres of rolling hills and featuring nearly 200-foot elevation changes, narrow rivers and thick forests, this course is a must play for visiting golfers. Below is the 14th - Click it.
Little River is in Carthage, North Carolina, 5 miles north of Pinehurst Village. Recent additions of a 20,000 sq. ft. clubhouse and 80 luxury villas puts Little River on the "not to be missed" itinerary of any traveling golfer. Most of the course is in its natural state, without housing visible anywhere. Lush fairways, a full variety of shot values, true rolling greens, and views of the Sandhills area attainable at few courses in the area are all hallmarks of this Dan Maples layout that has matured well. Little River Golf Club is one course on your trip that you will not soon forget.
