With an elevated tee the 18th is a long finishing hole that requires distance off the tee to position for as short approach as possible over the water. The tee shot should not be left since the fairway kicks ball left to the water on the left.  Many approach shots end up in the two bunkers behind the green when golfers go to long when trying to avoid the water. It is then a tough blast out towards a downhill green with water below.
