Comments - The scenic design of Island West
Golf Club, with beautiful rolling fairways, elevated tees, carefully preserved
natural marsh areas and large live oaks all combine for a magnificent setting
and an enjoyable golf experience in the Hilton Head golf area. Not a typical low-country layout, Island West
offers golfers of all skill levels a chance for good scores with several
risk/reward opportunities. Fuzzy Zoeller, 1979 Masters Champion and 1984
U.S. Open Champion, along with architect Clyde Johnston, designed Island West as
a challenging, yet very playable course, with safe routes for the cautious. Come
visit Island West when you travel to the Hilton Head golf Island and you will see why your golfing experience will be
"unforgettable." The
course has an abundance of wildlife - turkeys, osprey,
egrets, deer, and, of course, alligators. An exceptionally friendly staff make your day at Island West feel like your home country club at the Holton Head golf island. The course is conditioned to a high standard at all times, so your round will not be marred by burned-out greens, tee boxes with dead grass, or fairways littered from the maritime forest that surrounds the course. The driving range and practice greens are kept with the same meticulous attention to detail the golf course receives. For a more intensive use of our practice facilities, contact our professional staff at the Pro Shop to schedule some time in the Island West Golf Academy.
